A translator’s life is never boring, since there are so many different topics to write about. However, in order to provide a high quality translation, a translator needs specific knowledge of the subject. Good – and sensible – translators will only accept texts that they are comfortable with.
I have many years of experience with translations in the legal, financial/economic, medical and marketing field.

Translation software

I work with specialized translation software, very useful to integrate clients’ glossaries and other databases into my texts. With this software I can also make sure I’ve used the right terms in my translation and that my work is consistent. Over the years, I have created my own translation memories, based on subject and language combination. The above-mentioned software programs are also called CAT-tools. This software has nothing to do with machine translation; translation is an art and until now machine translations are far from perfect.
